
Nu'upia Ponds Observation Towers
Location: Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Oahu, Hawaii

Design-Build project to construct three 90′ high observation towers in the Nu’upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The observation towers will be used to: (1) monitor nesting/foraging activity of endangered and migratory birds; (2) monitor unauthorized activity on the shorelines and within the WMA; and (3) provide a learning arena for VIPs, elementary students, and periodic tours of the ponds.

Repair Flight Simulator Building
Location: Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington

RORE performed the design-build replacement of existing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in Building 2048 at Fairchild AFB. Project scope included design, survey, abatement, demolition, construction, and close-out activities. Building 2048 provides simulators for flight training and boom operator training for KC-135 aircraft on a 24/7 basis. Each simulator was served by chillers that also served two different mechanical rooms, computer air conditioning (CRAC) units in Room 105, and a fancoil unit in Room 151, all of which were required to remain fully operational during construction.

Renovate/Alter Administrative Building to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
Location: Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington

RORE performed the design-build conversion of Rooms F19, F18, and F17 of Building 2040 into a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Project scope included design, survey, demolition, construction, testing/reporting, and close-out activities. This project converted existing administrative spaces to meet the standards of UFC 4-010-05, ICS 705-1, and IC Tech Spec for ICD/ICD 705 Ver 1.4. Administrative spaces were renovated and repurposed to accommodate training and classroom functions for students. Scope also included exterior window infilling, door opening infills, prep work for security and infiltration detection system installation, updates and testing, STC 50 rated wall and ceiling construction and door installation, as well as various other interior finish and electrical/communications services work.

New Construction of Child Development Center
Location: Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii
Client: NAVFAC Hawaii
RORE built a new LEED-Silver Child Development Center (CDC) to accommodate 122 children aged six weeks to five years. The CDC includes 14 age-specific rooms, reception area, staff/break room, storage, toilets, industrial kitchen, laundry, janitorial, and two outdoor activity areas. This project included extensive site/civil/underground utilities work (that RORE self-performed), landscaping, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, reinforced CMU exterior and standing seam roof, Anti-Terrorist Force Protection windows, telecom and audio/visual systems, and security systems for building access, Test and Balance, commissioning, as-builts, USGBC LEED-Silver Certification, and close-out.

Design-Build Renovation and New Construction of Fitness Center
Location: Luke Air Force Base, Arizona
Client: USAF
RORE renovated the fitness center at Building 820 at Luke AFB. The scope of work for this project included renovation of the entire facility and new construction. The center was required to remain fully operational during construction and we worked closely with the client to ensure noise attenuation, dust control, and pedestrian safety controls. RORE renovated the gym and newly constructed parent/child room to increase activity space in cardio and weight lifting areas. The project was completed ahead of schedule.

Design-Build Medical and Dental Building Expansion and Renovation of Kitchen and Dining Facilities
Location: Florence, Arizona
Client: USACE Los Angeles
RORE provided design-build of concrete masonry unit (CMU) addition to the medical and dental building and repair/renovation of the Support Service Building to include the kitchen, dining, and cooking areas. The project required more than 400 submittals; and all personnel adhered to stringent security requirements. Construction was ongoing at an operational facility. The project was completed with zero safety violations. Two additional projects were awarded to RORE as a result of this project.

Design-Build Renovation of Administrative Office Building
Location: Kirtland AFB, New Mexico
Client: USACE Los Angeles
RORE managed and renovated two buildings (B419: 15,810 SF and B425: 16,830 SF) to convert 2-story dormitory to office spaces, at Kirtland AFB. Design included 35%, 65%, 95%, and 100% design of 15 office spaces, two secure conference rooms, Virtual Training Center (VTC) room, and remodeled the bathroom facility to include a unisex shower and computer lab. Construction scope included MEP, HVAC, DDC controls, fire alarm system, fire sprinklers, ceiling, floor, roof, audio/visual, telecommunications, painting, and landscape.
