Granular Activated Carbon Vessel Change-Out

Naval Base Ventura County, CA

RORE provided environmental services to replace spent granular activate carbon (GAC) within the filter vessels used to treat stormwater at the Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) fueling facilities at Port Hueneme, Point Mugu, and San Nicolas Island. Samples of the spent carbon were collected and analyzed to develop a waste profile and the waste carbon was transported offsite to an activated carbon regeneration facility to recycle the material. The filter vessels were then filled with re-generated carbon to maintain the filter’s effectiveness and comply with the NBVC storm water requirements.
