Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, CA

RORE evaluated the design of hazardous material/waste and solid waste system conveyance and storage systems prior to construction of various projects including oil-water separators (OWS), an underground industrial wastewater (IW) conveyance system for a new research laboratory, facility wash racks, a Hazardous Waste Storage and Transfer Facility loading-dock design, and several weapons test pad waste water conveyance and storage systems at NAWS China Lake. The purpose of the design evaluations was to provide value engineering improvements and to ensure compliance with CCR Title 22 requirements and issuance of Independent Engineering Certification for hazardous material/waste storage systems.


Fault Hazard Investigation

San Diego Community College, San Diego, CA

RORE conducted an invasive, geotechnical investigation to identify the presence and location of active or potentially active earthquake faults and the possible surface rupture hazards that the faults pose on future buildings planned over five city blocks for the San Diego City College in Downtown San Diego.


Energy Audit and Efficiency Studies

Hostelling International USA, San Diego, CA

RORE was awarded this firm fixed-price contract to perform energy audits and consultation at two facilities in San Diego. LEED Accredited Professional (LEED APs) collected and evaluated data for consideration in a planned roof and boiler system upgrade, performed site inspections, made recommendations for alternate technologies such as photovoltaic systems, and assisted with the purchase of Energy Star solar products and other energy-saving devices.
